IF WE DON'T FIGHT FOR OUR HOMES IN NEW YORK CITY, THE DEVELOPERS WILL GLADLY TAKE THEM FROM US: Join the Outreach Campaign to Elected Officials
Join Our Campaign
to Preserve Public Housing for Low Income Residents
Here are simple steps you can take to protect your home:
1) Know your elected officials (Mayor, Borough President, NYC City Council Members, NY State Senate Members, NY State Assembly Members, US House of Representatives, US Senators)
2) Contact them ONCE A MONTH
WHAT ARE WE ASKING OF THEM?
We are asking from the CITY:
- Baseline $30 million per year for operating subsidies for NYCHA's 6,000 units of City-assisted public housing
We are asking from the STATE:
- Baseline $70 million per year for operating subsidies for state-assisted public housing (20,000 units statewide; 15,000 in NYC)
We are asking from CONGRESS:
- ADEQUATE FUNDING for public housing operating costs and captial subsidies
